Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama

カップヌードルミュージアム 横浜

The Cup Noodles Museum tells the story of Momofuku Ando's invention of instant noodles — a Japanese innovation that changed global food culture. Interactive exhibits let visitors design their own Cup Noodles packaging and create custom noodle blends.

The Cup Noodles Museum in Yokohama chronicles the invention of instant noodles by Momofuku Ando in 1958 — a story of post-war necessity, individual craft, and a food innovation that now feeds hundreds of millions of people daily worldwide. The museum combines a chronological exhibition of instant noodle history with interactive experiences, the most popular of which is the My Cup Noodles Factory where visitors design their own Cup Noodles packaging and select custom flavor and topping combinations.

The Instant Noodles History Cube — a floor-to-ceiling wall displaying every instant noodle product ever produced — is visually striking and communicates the scale of the innovation better than any text could. For food enthusiasts, the museum reframes something mundane (instant noodles) as a genuine design and engineering achievement, and the Yokohama Minato Mirai location makes it an easy 30-minute day trip from central Tokyo.
