Japanese Sword Museum

The Japanese Sword Museum (Token Hakubutsukan) sits in Yokoami, Sumida, a short walk from Ryogoku Station and adjacent to the Edo-Tokyo Museum complex. It is operated by the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords (NBTHK), the institution that defines and certifies sword preservation grades in Japan, and its rotating exhibitions draw on a permanent collection that includes National Treasure and Important Cultural Property blades.
